A Limited-Edition Collaboration
Created in collaboration with UNION Los Angeles, the Carter is reimagined through the lens of founder and creative director Chris Gibbs' Caribbean heritage. Drawing from traditions of handcraft and everyday utility, this limited-edition release blends premium materials with considered details that celebrate the culture of making by hand.
PRODUCT DETAILS
- Upper: Premium suede from LWG-certified tanneries with a hand-braided vamp, custom UNION × CLAE woven labels, handcrafted in Vietnam
- Insole: 80% recycled PU foam with durable, long-wearing density for lightweight cushioning and everyday comfort
- Outsole: Lug Sole (LS) made with 30% natural rubber and a hidden EVA insert for lightweight comfort and flexibility
- Lining: Premium leather
- Laces: Thin 4mm square leather laces with custom handcrafted beaded lace ends inspired by Caribbean cultural expression.
All boxes, packaging, and labels are made from recycled cardboard and paper.

Returns & Exchanges
We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase.
You can request a return or exchange within 30 days of receiving your order. Items must be unworn, in brand-new condition, and returned in their original CLAE shoe box, placed inside a separate shipping carton.
Return Labels
We now provide prepaid return labels for eligible countries through our Return Portal.
Returns: The cost of the return label will be deducted from your refund:
- €15 for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Spain.
Exchanges:
- For the countries listed above, exchanges are free. A prepaid return label will be provided at no additional cost.
For all other countries, customers are responsible for arranging their own return shipment.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to your original payment method after your return has been received and inspected. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing.
How to Start a Return

- Enter your order number and the email address used for your purchase.
- Follow the instructions to complete your return.
- Once your return has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email.
